Ura Tabu provides colourful dance entertainment services as well as Polynesian dance workshops.
We perform in theatres and festivals, at conferences, corporate functions, for birthdays, weddings, socials and many kinds of community events.
We offer Pacific Dance workshops – Samoan, Cook Island and Contemporary Pacific.
Ura Tabu was established in August 2008 as an all female dance group made up of different ethnicities from a diverse dance background.
We have a unique style that brings forth the raw passion of Pacific dance with a contemporary element, allowing audiences to be moved and connected by the universal language of dance.
Ura Tabu uses both tradition and creativity to tell stories, myths and legends through dance. We continue to push boundaries and be influenced by our environment, time and geographic distances while keeping alive the taboo spirit of ancient Pacific dance. You can watch samples of our dances on You Tube.
